The Chronodermis Remix Kit is available for download here.

You'll need a copy of Winzip (or anything else that opens a .zip file) to open it.

It's about 68.8 megs, so if you're still on dialup, you might wanna pack a lunch and maybe bring along a copy of Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy.

The .zip file contains 16-bit, 44.1kHz .wav files, a MIDI file of the drum tracks, an mp3 of the original song and a readme.txt with full details.

We're planning to release a home-burnt CD of the best remixes some time after the release of the next album. Since we don't know when that will be, there is currently no due date for remixes. But that doesn't mean you can slack. Hop to it!

Q: Can I make a remix?
A: Yes. That's what this remix kit is here for.

Q: Can I add my own elements to my remix?
A: Sure. Knock yourself out. Whatever makes you happy.

Q: What do I do when it's done?
A: Send an email to rockgods@nanochrist.com, with the subject line "Chronodermis Remix". In the email, please include a link to the finished mp3. Do not email the actual mp3 itself. If you've got some crazy DJ name or whatever, let us know what it is so if we use your remix we can credit you.

Q: So you'll release my remix on the web or on CD?
A: Maybe.

Q: What if I don't want you to?
A: That's fine. Seems a bit silly, but fine. Just let us know.

Q: Will I get paid for my remix?
A: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Q: I'm being serious. I should get paid for my work.
A: Yes you should. But nobody is making you do this. And the chances of Nanochrist making any money from a remix CD are slim-to-diddly. It'll cost us a lot to produce, though.

Q: Who owns the rights to the remix?
A: You do. But Nanochrist own the rights to the original material. That means that if you licence your remix out to TV or movies or something, we get a 50% share of any money you might happen to make. But don't licence it out to advertisers. Ever.

Q: So if you use it, I get nothing. But if I use it, you get half?
A: You got it. But again, the likelihood of this making any money is very low. It's more about having fun and getting the name out.

Q: Would I at least get a free copy of the CD?
A: For sure. Hell, we'll give you ten copies absolutely free. If you want to sell those, you can. And you can even keep the money. See? We're not unreasonable, just unpersonable.

Q: Can I remix a different song?
A: Possibly. Let us know which one and we'll see what we can do.

Q: Can I use the sounds in my own projects?
A: Sure, why the hell not? If you do, though, it would be cool if you sent us a copy.
